The Heart's Still a Tickin'

We have a monthly check-up today and overall it was pretty uneventful....just a little chat with the midwife and scolding me for my diet choices :( We did get to hear the heartbeat again. Of course I was still worried before the appointment, "What if they can't hear the heartbeat?" It took the midwife what seemed like a lifetime to find it and after lots of praying while I was laying there. She started on the left side of my belly and then worked her way to the right where she finally landed on it....that beautiful wooshing sound :)

I guess the baby isn't a blob anymore...we hope not. We'll get to see the baby again in a few weeks, on June 23rd when we go in for our sequential screening (testing for genetic disorders). Some moms have said they found out the sex of their baby at this appointment but we'll just have to see.

I've been feeling better already...not as nauseous and getting some energy back. Hopefully it's all returned after this first trimester ends in a few weeks.

Lucas and I have started working on the house. We have a lot to do to get rid of our gameroom to make it an office/sitting/play area and we'll put the nursery back where the office is in the small back bedroom. These projects probably won't get done until the day before the baby arrives :) As long as they get done then I'll be happy!

Sorry there's nothing more exciting to report but did want to fill you in on our coasting point. We're just letting the baby grow and develop now :) Til next time....Chao!
